The Equipment

I believe in Canon all the way; the image quality, the colour and sharpness all lead me to believe that Canon is an exceptional piece of camera equipment. Therefore, that is what I use. I have the Canon Eos 1000D. It is a great SLR camera to begin with. But I am ready for something more challenging... something like the Canon Eos 7D.

I have only had the 1000D for a year or so, but already I'm finding that I want more from it than it can offer me. But I did manage to find  a great little lens to satisfy me for a while; the 1.8f 50mm. It's a fixed lens which can sometimes make it harder to get exactly what you want if the subject is far away. But i have since learned that using this little baby for reasonably close portraits (like the ones you may have seen in my 'sample photographs') it is perfect! I love focusing on the subject and having the background blury. The further the person stands from the background, the better effect you get. It's great! It takes a really sharp image. Anyway, this is it:

Canon 1.8f 50mm... Isn't it cute??

I also bought a new flash as the built in didn't do much unless I was in close range to the subject. This baby is awesome too. It has up to a 90 degree angle and can swivel 270 degrees! The thing I really love is it has an LED light built in. So when it is too dark to focus, I can press a button and on comes the LED so I can focus perfectly. I can then switch it off and take the photo or leave it on for a pretty cool effect. This is it:

The truely great thing about these extra pieces of equipment is that they all fit onto any Canon Eos model. I can purchase the 7D and not have to get new lenses and flash etc.
